A dance “in between” that praises madness

The company “In Between” presents the show at the Court

SIENA – The Court of Miracles opens his calendar of events hosting the company “in betweeen” with the dance show belonging to the european project “Something in between” in the ideal frame of the courtyard of the Livi Mansion, center of the association, from 20 to 23 September.
All performances will start at 21.45. “Something between” is a dance to four voices in solo, freely inspired to “The Praise of Folly” by Erasmus of Rotterdam, from an idea of Ezio Tangini. The company is formed by the authors / dancers Flavia Ghisalberti, Basel; Yann van Steenbrugghe, Paris; Ivan Marasco, Lamezia Terme; Ezio Tangini, Rome. The show is sponsored by the Municipality of Siena and from the Department for Culture, and its premiere has been on 29th and 30th December 2003 in the Hall of the “Drying room” of the Complex of S. Maria della Pietà in Rome. The four dancers have formed the company last summer around the project “Something In Between”, trilogy on abnormal and guilt, of which the performance “Something between” is the first part. The choice of the ideal place for the performance necessarily had fallen on one of the courtyards of the Connolly Palace, one of the few existing structures of prison regimes in our country emblem of constraint and containment asylum; unfortunately for some problems of misunderstanding related to the unfitness of the abovementioned yard only last wednesday the Technical Department of the University has informed the Court of Miracles that the show could not be performed at the Connoly. Therefore Something in between will be staged on one of the courtyards of the Livi Mansion (center of the Court of the Miracles), equally evocative place, with a tangible past.
